Rugby Returns!

RUGBY RETURNS! Last weekend (17th July), several of Bisons attended the return of Touch My Brum in Birmingham – an all-day touch rugby event run by the fabulous Birmingham Bulls RFC.

Despite the “unprecedented” (yuck!) 30-degree heatwave hitting Britain at the time, 10 of our gorgeous Bisons made the trip up the M5 for our first matches against other rugby teams in almost 18 months.

Kicking off in the morning with a draw against the Outlaws and a couple of losses against the Berkshire Unicorns and Spartans, the Bisons went on to win against the Vulcans, putting the team into the finals of the Beorma Bowl.

With the sun beating down, the team put everything into the Quarter Final after lunch, beating the Spartans by one try to zero, before sadly being knocked out by the London Stags in the semis after a very hard-fought fight.

We couldn’t be prouder of the commitment and passion that our Bisons showed, many of whom had yet to play against another team. And to get to the semi-finals is a fantastic achievement!

A huge thank you to Daryn (for being a brilliant leader and captain), Will H, Will D, Stuart, Chris P, James, Evan, Jamie, Dale, Chris M for taking part and to Bernie for organising.

See you in 2022, Brum!
